Exploring Shadows &
Inviting the Light
Make Well is a weekly SoulCollage®️ group using intuitive collage to explore the deep complexities of life - our dreams, pain, spirituality, sense of purpose, our longing, the love we embody, and so much more. The Make Well community is strong and welcoming, no art experience is necessary (though seasoned artists gain just as much value), all supplies mailed to your home, and the group is led by Kathryn Snell-Ryan, LPC, Art Therapist & SoulCollage®️ facilitator. Attend each week or just when it works for your schedule.
An Artful Life Is
A Life Worth Living.
Participants use a variety of collage techniques to deepen self-awareness, identify & integrate the many parts of self, explore the dark or shadow experiences through a creative and softening lens, and tap into playful levity as the ‘overthinking brain’ is bypassed. SoulCollage®️ fosters meaningful joy and a creative deep-dive into who we are and what we need to feel alive.

Welcome to
make well.
Hello! I'm Kathryn Snell-Ryan and like you, my hat collection is sizable - maker, parent, full-time job juggler, seeker of levity, Art Therapist, & so on for infinity... Alas, I’m not quite sure about your dreamy visions, but most of mine include some version of the maker part of me. It's here I notice small and strange beauties, where I really see. Messy studio clothes, mind wandering, sketches laid out, marks clear & confident. I am lost in the very best way.
This dreamy version of me does exist, but for way longer than I'd care to admit - hardly ever. Despite falling in love with making in my teens, undergrad degree in Fine Arts, and a Master’s in Art Therapy from one of the most prestigious art schools in the nation - adulting went on to squeeze the creative life blood out of me.
I yearned to make, could smell the clay, kept my sketchbook barely-active, had brief bouts of art production that didn't last, dreamed of 1,000 versions of a perfect little studio. And yet my daily bandwidth just couldn't stretch far enough. I am only one person, my childs' only mother, responsible for half my family's income…. You know the drill - 21st century living leaving the well of creativity bone-dry.
And so alas, the spirit of 'create what you need' led to the formation of MAKE. If you find yourself needing a committed creative practice but struggle to nail it down, I'd love to welcome you in. xx
MAKE Is Right For You If...
- Having weekly creative time is desired but it's difficult to show-up consistently.
- You can free up your Tuesday or Wednesday evening for 1.5-2 hours (even if it takes negotiating, finagling, or sneaking the time).
- You want a place to be quiet & just make alongside the collective energy of others.
- You want to creatively explore who you are through the lens of Art Therapy.
- And finally, if you can already picture, down in your guts & bones, the version of you working creatively, headphones in, mind & hands alight with creative energy.
Let's face it, none of us really need more fancy art stuff to 'prep' for our next project... WE SIMPLY NEED TIME TO MAKE & THE COMMITMENT TO STICK WITH IT.
join MAKE!
